In the process of setting up your velocity and acceleration in MACH2
you tune the axis for a max speed. You would simply set it so it did
not exceed the max pulse rate of the software.

I drive twin servos on a 6' wide gantry with separate motors and
Gecko's using the MACH2 slaving option. It works to a "T". The only
time the axis gets skewed is when there is a physical problem that
causes it. The solution is simple. I just run the machine back to
the dual home switches and MACH2 takes care of lining things back
perfectly.

I don't care for the idea of belts and pullys on a plasma machine.
It would need to be enclosed and out of the way on the far end. Both
ends of my table are open so I can slide larger material in and index
it to make "tiled" cuts. I have to cut a 10' sign tomorrow and it
will have to be done that way.

Let me know when you get MACH2 and SheetCAM installed and running and
I will send you a couple of Corel files to play with. MACH2 does not
support THC operation on the demo version but you don't need that
until you get the machine operational.

I use an old Miller 500 that never misses a beat. When you look at
buying a plasma think past the initial price. Look at the cost of
consummables (tips, electrodes, etc).
