It's a limit on the reliable throughput of the parallel port
controller in Windows. It means that you will not be able to
maintain control over your machine position, and the cause may not be
obvious. This is readily solved by using an external controller like
the DeskCNC, 2nd generation, controller which runs up to 125,000
steps per second.
