When we were initially running our machine, we stuck cheap ball point pens
in the collet chuck. Take a small piece of plywood, nai a cleat to it and
stick it in the vise. A sheet of paper and you got a really expensive
spirograph. We broke quite a few pens but no harm with the 12 cent pens.
Initially, we had tried a pocket laser pointer but ended up chasing the beam
with a pen......
