The BOSS does however have mechanical DROs on both X and Y axes.
Basically they are counters that are geared off of the ball screws. When
I used steppers I used to always take a note of the readings when I
zeroed Mach2. That way if I lost steps I would know about it. Usually
too late, but I would know...
