I have an Omron/Yaskawa G5+ VFD and the question was what settings
should be changed in order properly utilize a breaking resistor

According to Omron and Yaskawa tech supports (called both<G>):

Use ramp to stop which will automaticly kick in the resistor if
required

Change parameter L3-04 to "0" which has to do with anti-stalling on
deceleration

Change deceleration parameter C-102 to decrease time it takes to stop

That seems to be about all there is to it.

Thanks for the help and hope someone else can use this in the future,

Jeff
