NEW to CNC World and need Info to get started !!!

Hello I Was so happy to find a group like this
I am going to build a custom CNC Lathe 4 axis machine for custom
inlay work .. Could anyone Point me in the right direction to
familarize myself with the controller part .. I have a very very
skilled machinest working for me so I am not worried about
construction but I am building and need to learn the code and
software I have BOBCAD and I have made several designs just goofing
off but I need info on othersoftware and motors and controllers I
have seen gecko and figured I would get that but honestly I am not
100% what they are . I have a computer back ground well I work on
them everyday genral computer repair but never any CNC ..

Just Point me in the right direction ..
