Hi Chad,

As you probably know, your CAD makes the files.

your CAM follows the tool paths and outputs pulses to tell the
machine what to do.

Those pulses are sent out the parallel port to a breakout board.
that in turn splits the signals to the Drivers (Geckos) and relays
and also inputs from end switches and emergency stop (E-stop)

The Geckos allow you to run your steppers or servos from the pulse
signal.

It is all pretty easy once you do it once.

white paper on power supplies.
