Mine is a 14 x14. I have some flex when cutting. I'm probably
already "abusing" it somewhat with my application, but would expect
to also be able to take light cuts in aluminum.

I can't speculate on the sturdiness of the 24 inch machines as
things change quite a bit when you scale these things up.
