My opinion is that you would need two motors on each side of the x and y axis (4 drivers-- one motor reversed on each side). Moreover, I would think that you would need to lower the Y axis and to have v-wheels ( 4 to 6) tight on each side of the inside of the Y axis which will move the z axis across the Y axis to support the Y movement. I don't know if you can imagine what I am saying.
