It is possible to get waterslide transfer paper in both white and
clear that work in inkjet printers.
In the UK you can get it from: http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk
I am sure it is available elsewhere. You simply print it. Spray the
whole sheet with three light coats of acrylic laquer and then cut
around the transfers and water slide them in place. A further coat of
laquer may also be a good idea.
A friend of mine has used these on model aircraft and they look
great. I have a few sheets ordered myself.
One other tip I have is to use sticky back plastic sheet for front
panels even if you make a bit of a mess of a front panel you can take
off all the switches etc, stick on a layer of plastic and then put the
switches etc back on. It also means you can recycle old boxes and use
scrap sheet for front panels if you dont have any in good condition.

p.s. I just noticed that craftycomputerpaper also do printable sticky
backed glossy paper, should be ideal.
