I have two problems with this- I dont have a flat bed scanner, and Im
not going to tear my magazine apart to send it through my single sheet
scanner. I also have some trouble with posting copyright material,
particularly when the publisher is still around and sells back issues.

So, this weekend I'll re-read the article and make a post here with the
critical dimensions. As I recall the pattern is a very simple rectangle,
all that matters is the height and width of the rectangle and the
spacing between them. The article explained how the author used a CNC
machine to make the strips, but that detail does not seem necessary to
this group.

I think if I was going to do this, I would take the specific caliper I
intend to use and peel away the protective cover and see its PC board
and verify the actual dimensions. I would guess the chip in them is
standard, but if you want an accurate measuring device you should be
sure of the dimensions.
