I'd say you're looking for a desk top to bench top sized mill. As for types and
sizes of cutters/end mills/etc., there's a certain amount of time, trouble, and
expense, that you're just going to have to deal with. They're kind of the high
priced spreead on some things, but you can get some really teensy end mills,
00000 size Slocombe drills, (combined center drill-counter sinks), and other
stuff from Airgas-Rutland tool. Their URL is:

If you can't find what you're looking for anywhere else, that's where to go.
If you get their catalog, and look for something, you're going to find about ten
or twenty pages of every possible variety of it. On the good side, they provide
some info on what some of the differences are good for.
