Luke: It means the wall-wart ALSO supplies dual-polarity 12 VDC up to 300
mA. That is, it supplies +12 VDC with respect to common, AND -12 VDC with
respect to common, both up to 300 mA. And, of course, additionally the 5 VDC
you are using.
