Be carefull here- there is no free lunch. If you just turn the
alternator with a washing machine motor, which are usually about 1/3 hp,
you wont get out of the alternator more than 1/3 hp, or 1/3*746 watts=
248 watts, actually, quite a bit less than this because of friction and
resistance. At best this could supply about 20 amps, but only at 12vdc.

If you tried to get you big spike load out of it it would just stall, or
maybe even kick the drive belt off. A big flywheel might help.

It would likely be a lot simpler to just get a power supply big enough
to do the job!
