If you mount the router on the cross slide then cross feed becomes the
Z axis. the lathe bed becomes the X and the spindle becomes the A or
Y for a total of 3 axes.
Quite a few people use the rotary as the Y (or vice versa) so it is
only 3 axes that you need to work with. It would be like a mill
laying on it's back.
