Hi ron;
100MHz bandwidth should do it. Understand though that I never tuned a
Gecko, but I hae never had an issue with outher servos I've tuned.
Others are likely to suggest higher bandwidths but I'm not willing to go
that far.
You might want to consider a digitizing scope if you expect to do a lot
of machine tool and other diagnostic work on controls. A good one is
expensive so that does impact the decision process. Also if you
expect to work with a lot of analog quadrature encoders or ohter
circuits that require the use of XY mode then you may want a scope that
has a true analog mode. I've found that some all digital scopes are
wanting with respect to XY mode operation.
That is me I'm sure others will have a different opinion. Agian I'm
not up to speed on the Geckos themselves but some servos can be tuned by
ear if you have good hearing. At least the older examples of servo
drives could be.
Thanks
Dave
