could be used for plating but it is certainly nothing special.
I keep thinking of other ideas for ECM electrodes, I think ECM has
been neglected because "the big boys" just use EDM for most things.
But for the hobbiest EDM is tricky, I think ECM is easier.
I am thinking along the lines of porous insulators, imagine you mill
an electrode with some special shape to it, if you could cover that
with a porous but non conductive layer you could sit it on your
workpiece attach power and watch it start to sink under its own weight.
I suppose thin felt would work for non precise things but I am sure
there will be better options.
What about wire ecm, a wire with a porous sleeve, feed rate controlled
by wire tension (no need to wire feed etc so just a fixed tension
guage)
