Carl,
It depends upon quantity - for "onesies" (1 to 25) I would suggest
CNC milling - For low volumes (10-to 500) Laser or Waterjet would be
ideal and not as expensive as many folks think - Typically waterjet
is more expensive than laser in similar quantities but the difference
is closing up as waterjets become more common -
The CNC punch shown at the last CNC-Workshop would be a possibility
for low volumes too - For industrial CNC turret punching you would
have to find someone who was willing to do the setups - Many (most of
the ones I know) of the industrial CNC turret punch guys have added
lasers for smaller volumes -
Finally, for over 1000 pieces a purpose build die in an OBI press
would be a good choice -
