Hello Bill,
in one case a cockroach sitting on the output contacts of a 24V 10A
power supply made that 300$ part smoke. So don't worry that is not so
unusuall at all, specially in the tropics, where the ants love to live
in computers.
Long sitting equipment makes that kind of unfriendly wellcome greatings
frequently. You might clean with contact spray, change fuses and start
slowly. once switched on let the cirquits heat up for a while before you
make movements in the air. We had a GE550 control that needed to be
conected min 2 hours a day, if not it would blow and give a lot of
trouble. btw it sucked more current than the machine itsself.
