you have a rotary encoder?
it puts out quadrature at some # clicks/rev...
you want tachometer out of this?
how many click/rev do you want from the tach?
not usual to have lots of clicks/rev on the spindle...
maybe one led and one phototransitor instead of a
rotary encoder?
