Thanks for the input. Maybe I ought to just hook up the Toshiba I have,
it's here and paid for, and has a lot of features. Doesn't have a
braking resistor, but the Hardinge already has a brake.
I was concerned about sizing, thinking that the constant starting from
zero to 3000 rpm (sometimes as much as every 15 seconds) might overwork
the Toshiba. I'll sit down and go through the manual again.
Thanks also for the input on switching windings, that would take care of
my low speed torque issues with the smaller motor.
