Mount a dial indicator or better, a dial test indicator to where the router
or other tool normally goes. Place a large triangle on the table, and
clamp if necessary to keep it from moving. Adjust the triangle until the
indicator shows no change as the axis is swept along one side of the
triangle. Now, readjust the indicator to sweep along the other arm of the
triangle, and observe how the pointer moves. That is showing the
non-orthogonality of the two axes. Adjust the axis that can be realigned
until you see no change in indicator reading as you sweep both arms
of the triangle.
