Hello, all,
Does anyone have drawings of the Bridgeport BOSS table/saddle
components? I have been working on a Series-I BOSS saddle and
knee for retrofit to my manual round-ram Bridgeport. I had been
planning on using the original 9x32" table, but I'm starting to
think I'm going to have a problem with getting all these parts
to work together. I have a BOSS X-axis ballscrew with the rotating
nut assembly. But, I'm having a real problem figuring out how
this nut mounted to the saddle. (One reason to not use a BOSS
table is I'd like to get at least 20" of X travel, I think the standard
BOSS with the small table only moves 18".)
Anyway, any drawings somebody might have that show how the
X screw and nut are installed, and where the motor goes would
be a great help. If you know where photos of the mechanism
are, like on the web, that would be just as good. I didn't come
up with anything after some searching.
If this all turns out to be a disaster, I could just keep my original
table and saddle, and use the bigger knee to just get more Y travel,
which is much of the reason for this overhaul project.
Thanks much in advance.
