Hi,

The two wires that go to the brushes are obviously the feed to the
motor. Hook them up to a 12V battery and the motor should spin. Are the
other 4 wires colour coded? Common colours for encoders are: red=+ve
power (probably 5V) black=ground, white =A, green=B.

Do you know what voltage the plotter used to drive the motors? How big
are the motors and what shape? Thin 'pancake' style motors can be
difficult to work with.

What sort of machine do you want to drive with these motors?
