Spindle Start Delay - Do I need to build one in???

Hello,
I am still trying to figure out the control systems for my new(old)
Bridgeport Series 2 control retrofit and I was wondering if i need to
build in some kind of time delay for the spindle. The reason I ask is
that the 4J head has an air actuated brake and I was wondering if I
need to release the brake and give it time (a second or so) to release
before I start the spindle. I can put in a time delay ice cube if this
is necessary. Since the machine was DOA I am not sure how the original
controls were set up. Any help and guidance on this would be much
appreciated.

THanks,
Larry Olson
