My question is "can I connect 220 (single phase)
to all 3 elements in parallel on the primary side?" and also is there
any problem in doing so. I am not very familiar with transformer design
so any help would be appreciated.
No. The transformer would rather instantly let out ALL the magic smoke if
you do that. If you connect only ONE "leg" the other two primaries will be
"hot," so dangerous, and you won't get anything near full output from
secondaries. It just isn't designed to work on anything OTHER than three phases in!
