High resolution scales are very interesting; but do you know if long scales
are available, say 40" or longer? in high or low resolution?
I'd really like some long scales to put on an optical bench.

The Shumatech DRO reads Chinese scales directly. There is a quadrature to
Chinese converter so that standard scales can also be used, but nothing that
goes the other way. He's looking for a Chinese to quadrature converter
useable with an existing DRO, and I haven't run across that as a stand alone
unit yet. Far as I know, the Shumatech is still the only one around that
will read both.

You never know what may turn up! I have PC interface on my Glass DRO
systems and PC interfaces for Chinese scales data flows can meet in a PC.
In the not to distant future Chinese scales will be out at 0.0002
resolution. High resolution Digital Calipers of 0.0002 resolution have been
available for a few months. Yes, I have them in hand and I have been using
them for about 5 months.
Scales and data flows have some interesting possibilities!
