  There's an expression from some wise person that includes
the phrase "condemnation prior to investigation", that seems
to apply here. So, to hopefully truncate the apparently
growing religious war (what other kind is there?) over
operating systems, programming languages and PC/EC hardware,
I offer the following suggestions:
1. For the critics, please implement your Forth over Linux or
whatever solution, and come back when done - we may buy it if
it provides advantages. In other words, put your money where
your mouth is; the rest of us will try not to speculate about
whether or not you might have to remove a foot or two.
2. For the rest of us, ignore the trolls, arguing only
encourages them.
