One old method that might be useful is to put a motor on the pot itself.

you can adjust the pot from the software by rotating the motor.

It will wear out the pot over time, so it would be a good idea to buy
a replacement.

Also, check the baldor specs and data sheets to see if they offer such
a beast. then see what the add-on would be to have that remote interface.
