Technically, Pete is correct, but be sure that the VFD you buy is spec'd
to run on single phase input. I have some Yaskawa VFDs that have a
missing phase detector, and will shut down of they don't get proper
three phase input on all the input pins. Be sure to check the detailed
specs before you pay for one that won't work for you.
