Yes, the exotic metal recyclers use a machine simular, perhaps the same to
find nickel alloys, titanium, vanadium, gold, silver nickel alloys being
stuff like invar, nichrome..
identified materials are paid for on different scales. one metal recycle i
worked on was a bunch of stuff from xray test equipment, a whole box of
target metals, turned out to be berylium, molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten
pure metals whereby it was paid off with quite large sum of money, otherwise
it would have gone into stainless pile at 55 cents a lb. and been small
money for the junkman.
