Lathe bed for Mill column ?

Hi all,

I bought an old lathe and it has some serious problems. broken gears
and such.

I am thinking about keeping the bed and using it for the column for a
home-brew mill.

Since it has Vee ways, I am not sure if it has the strength needed for
a mill.

Any ideas ?
