I have heard from several people that his stuff is good. I've talked to
Dwane, he's a good guy. MSC uses his parts and I believe the mechanical
parts of a couple kits out there use his Z drive too.
If you have not seen them there are several good scratch build write
ups on www.cnczone.com under the Bridgeport & Hardinge forum. Sort by
view count to get them.
I used the Rockford ball screw kit and since I got the control set up
right and some instalation goofs fixed I am getting great results.
If you decide to scratch build I strongly recommend doing the X & Y
conversions first and then the Z. This is what Jon and others did. It
is not what I did and having to turn handles really slowed me down.
