RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Help with digitizing probe

Hi Art thanks for correction, but perhaps not!
I said it that way because I was sitting with my laptop at home trying the
2.0c, and my G100 is now in the shop bolted to the machine.
If I start up 2.0c, click it for parrellel port mode since there's no G100,
go to probing on the top menu tabs and click the hole centre one. I get 'not
yet implemented'!
I may have something wrong / not in ports and pins which means it doesn't
know it's got a probe.
If not then some other error one of us has missed!
As always, let me know what to try and I'll let you know the response.

Hi Mark:

One correction..
>>and hole centre finder that may only be active with a G100

The hole center finder works with or without a G100. :-)

Thanks,

If you go back through the news group postings for the mach3 group over the
past month you will find a lot of info on probing.
It is part of the latest development, presently stands at a 3 D cloud point
probing system, and hole centre finder that may only be active with a G100.
Ajax CNC also has probing software with a wide variety of options, but is
rather expensive.

I am quite interested too. The only one I have heard about that works
is the pseudo-proprietary hardware/software of ShopBot.

I would like to know of something more generic. It looks like Mach3
had the ability, but could not find any real information in the docs
about it.

Anyone have a word of knowledge for us on this topic?
