I haven't worked with the Microkinetics equipment much except to use some of
their steppers and drivers to replace other steppers and drivers on the
equipment I service. However, I would think there are machine parameters that
need to be set in the controller. Some of these machine parameters could be
settings for: inertia, backlash, correction factor. You may not have all of
these but I would think that you would have at least backlash and probably
inertia settings. These parameters, if incorrect, will cause the problem you are
indicating. Also, what was suggested by another person on the group
regarding the way the driver is set up, could also be causing that. However, I would
think Microkinetics would have taken that into account when they fabricated
the lathe, especially since that is not the first one they have built.
