It is probably an HEDS-9500 (is that the same as a 9200 with index
channel, or is the
9500 a different pitch - I don't remember.) The Q probably indicates a
different terminal
arrangement, maybe a short cable instead of just pins.

Yes, the motors may make decent DC tachs.
