Hi Fred

There are many stepper and servo motor drives that have the capability of storing and executing motion programs. One that I have used on several single-axis machines is the Compumotor SX-6. Programmed using Compumotor's X language, it's kind of like having a stepper drive built into a PLC.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Single Axis Motion Control

Hi is anyone aware of a single axis sofware program running under XP
giving step dir signals via the printer port? I want to log drill
core by pulling it through a gamma camera at set rates and to be able
to stop the core traverse for specified intervals. Personally I would
have used Mach2 on a single axis but colleagues feel this would be
overly complex.
Thanks
Fred
