Hi Terry,

Thanks machining is the best way, because its accuracy is the best.
In the begining I was thinking about a joining method which utilize
the heat generated by friction force between two faces. But can't
find any shop doing this.

It helped that I had TCT tooling and could get the thing through my
lathe spindle. Once clocked to run true all was easy. BTW I made the
bit to add before machining the ballscrew to a press fit and pushed
it on using Loctite. Left it over night to set and then finished
machined the end without disturbing the ballscrew. I also made up a
sleeve to take up the difference between the spindle bore and the
ballscrew and another to protect the ballscrew from the four jaw
ind. chuck.
