Hi,
I've just done this to my ballscrew by adding a foot to one end. It helped that I had TCT tooling and could get the thing through my lathe spindle. Once clocked to run true all was easy. BTW I made the bit to add before machining the ballscrew to a press fit and pushed it on using Loctite. Left it over night to set and then finished machined the end without disturbing the ballscrew. I also made up a sleeve to take up the difference between the spindle bore and the ballscrew and another to protect the ballscrew from the four jaw ind. chuck.
Regards,
Terry
Hi,
I need a ball screw of total length around 1000mm, but best I can get
is about 500mm only, so I need to add some length at both ends for
mounting the screw on the table. Have anyone done this before any helps
would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Horace.
