Hi,
I was getting some really weird results, but I think I have made some progress by using "sweep two rails" in small sections. I have ordered a book from Amazon. I haven't drawn it in a way that lofting can be used.

surface? I have only ever done 2D and 3D using geometric solid in
ACAD before.
from many ways.
Try loft two lines, or patch a closed poligon.or create a surface
from planar curves,or from edge curves.
loft does a good job with 3d curves.
