Express Ballscrew Repair quoted me $700 to $800 EACH and that
was on the low side he said. I made it clear that the ballscrews
were not crashed and that I had a couple of thousands backlash. I
also told him that they were in a hobby machine and I did not need
the typical rush turnaround service. But the guy really did not want
to do it. He kept telling me that there were so many made that I
probably could find NOS screws somewhere??? I passed.
3 other firms quoted me about $750 EACH for a regrind and reball.
One guy wanted $200 just to reball them.
Finally I found Esco Machine in Texas. The guy has been doing
this for 30 years and knew the machine. He said he could
give the ballscrew a light grind and reball for $700 for BOTH.
What a difference. I am going to send mine out in a week or
two and have him do my screws. :-)

My angular contact bearings are worn and need replacing. Anyone
know of a good source for this type of bearing?

Scott
