For angular contact bearings for ball screw usage your best bet is to go
to the nearest city and find the bearing / industrial supply houses.
One outfit that covers most of the country would be Kaman Industrial
Technologies (www.kamandriect.com). There are of course many others
and a local supplier may offer better deals.

The things to consider are the bearings part number and manufacture. A
good bearing supplier should have reasonably good luck with just this
info. It never hurts to dimension the bearing before placing an order
and that info may be needed for really odd suppliers. Many times
though the part numbers cross to industry standard numbers. All of
this if they used standard angular contact bearings.

Some manufactures also make bearings designed especially for ball screw
use. These apparently designed to take thrusts better that the run of
the mill angular contact bearing. If your machine has these you will
want to make sure that you put in the same thing. It might also make
sense to upgrade if not.

If you need to look into this more check out the web sites of FAFNIR and
other companies. FAFNIR's web site sucks for navigation but I
successfully downloaded their catalogs the other day at work. Of
course there are about a billion other suppliers, but I'd suggest that
this is the one place where cutting corners never works out.

Best of luck
Dave
