There are a few loop holes if's and but's you could explore.

First second hand equipment is exempt over here, but I am not sure about the
importing of it.

Parts for servicing older equipment are exempt, so you can supply service
parts.

If it will run at over 1000Volts it's exempt.

Also at present control equipment is exempt until Jan 2008, I would tend to
argue it's part of the control system.

It's also sort of down to your customer. If you are selling it to the EU, if
your terms set it so you sell it in your country, under the laws of your
country, and your customer is responsible for importing it to the EU and all
laws, you have diverted the liability. If your customer wants it bad enough
he won't be bothered, and customs aren't going to bother with it, it would
only be a problem if the customer resells it.

Another loop is test equipment. This is totally exempt, if it's a mill
that's one thing, but if it's for testing control system loops, Gcode or
something like that it's test kit.

Then there's countries, the UK always police everything to the letter of the
EU law. A minister from Italy told me ' well we'll implement something for
now, then everyone will forget about it and we won't need to be bothered
really so we can forget about it. These laws don't really apply to the
Italians' make what you want out of that.

Personally it's a damn nuisance, I don't think it will make a blind bit of
difference other than things are going to become a lot less efficient.

Please check all of this, our information supplied over here has been very
vague in some areas so please check and be sure your chosen method is safe
for you before you proceed.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Do brushed DC Servo motors have to be ROHS
compliant?

If I want to sell a milling machine or consumer goods with brushed DC
servo motors in the EU (or California for that matter) do they have to
ROHS compliant? I haven't seen any ROHS compliant motors but maybe I
just haven't looked in the right place.
