Funny you should mention it. My son and I are starting on his NATCAR, a
line follower (for Senior a project, UC DAVIS). I suggested using the
PIC16C73A, and a two line LCD. Easy to drive parallel LCD's with pics.
I have a Morse code reader, and a 2-meter receiver project; both use the
PIC's and LCD's. He needs to detect a 1: line on the carpet, and drive
an R/C servo motor to steer the car. PWM drives the servo. Fun! (and
dad gets to play too)
