Many of the copier dealers get the older copiers traded in and it costs them
to take them to the dump.
Most will give them away if they are sure you don't want to copy with them
anymore.
The bigger old copiers are built a lot tougher than modern laser printers.
Have you thought of using the copier principle, use the developer type brush
to get a set density of powder on the toner/dev roller, then pull your
powder out of the dev onto a second drum the same as the photoconductor drum
does. This should give you a pretty even layer, and all the parts to do it
are in a copier.

there is a ton of gears and mechanism inside of it , much hard to
