I got a set of ground precision high-accuracy screws out of a PC
board drilling machine. They most likey would cost over $5000
each, today. No need for such stuff on a Bridgeport, but the
machine was being scrapped, and I got them for a song. The
"drive" assembly is a 2.5:1 belt reduction that was on the PC
drill, I just made adaptors to fit them to the Bridgeport.

The servo amplifiers are my own design, and I made them
available as a kit for a while, but I don't think anyone built
them, other than me. They do work pretty well, though. The
motors are 1950's technology GE shunt-field brush motors, 1/8 Hp
continuous, and were quite adequate for driving the 10 Lb table
on the PC board drill. They are marginal on the Bridgeport, but
I'm not complaining.

I can do 120 IPM, but actually limit it in the software to 90
IPM, and never go over 60 because I start having crashes. The
machine is obviously faster than my reaction time!
