It's much easier to use kinematics in EMC2 than it was in EMC1 (which
the BDI is based on). Once you have the system installed (use the
liveCD from linuxcnc.org), you need to install the developer tools as
described here:

There's a ton of information on the wiki, you should definitely check it
out.
