Hi Graham,

The camera is not tilted. The focal length is less than half an inch. Can be
shorter.

The machine will store the delta between the drill and camera cross-hair,
and move into position for each drilling cycle, then return the the view
position. The present circuit doesn't have enough RAM to store any
significant drilling program. For a production-type system it probably is
easier to generate the program offline.

I got the idea from the Kulicke & Soffa wire bonding machines I maintained
at my job in 1979-80. For each silicon die the operator would target a pair
of bonding pads at opposite corners of the die, and the machine would
automatically calculate the relative positions of all the other pads, taking
into account rotation.

By adding some memory this machine could be made to operate similarly. I
plan to use it for the quick-&-dirty one-off. I do a lot of that.
