Jon:
Interesting, because in Lcam I had a fractal design generator, but I too found it oo hard to control and in the end never relased it. It did produce some cool patterns, but that hilbert I hadnt seen before.. its more what I was looking for. The idea was to use it to generate inlay patterns or something for edging material.. someday.. :)
Thanks,

Gee, thanks! These were done in the very early days of my foray
into CNC, when my Bridgeport was driven by an Allen-Bradley 7320
CNC control. It had very little look-ahead, and the servo loop
was really sluggish, so I had to run it insanely slow. The
Hilbert curve took almost an hour to cut, the Sierpinski
snowflake took something like two hours. I had to babysit it
and keep the top of the Plexiglas flooded with water or the
cutter made a crumbly mess of melted Plexi all over the thing.
I tried typing in codes to create some other fractal curves, but
they didn't come out right, so I never cut them into anything.
There's another class of things called "gaskets" that I'd like
to try programming and maybe etch in brass or something, using
my photoplotter and PCB etching techniques. Someday....
Oh, a couple years ago I had these up at the CNC Workshop.
