They were out of the one I wanted. Will have to look again shortly to see if they are in stock.
Ron's design calls for a fairly coarse screw that will allow manual operation of the Z. I built the X-Y stepper mounts to Ron's design but opted for heli flex couplings instead of the home brew in his plans. I am running a Xylotex 3 axis controller with Mach3 and in two axis mode it seems to do just fine. Eventually I want to replace the X-Y screws with ball screws. Ron's drawings of the Z axis are a bit confusing to me but I have to spend more time looking at them. I have Ron's belt drive which is outstanding.
